An article titled ‘Affordable offers push festive home sales up 15%’ was published in the reputed real estate online portal ET Realty.com on 6 December, 2015. The publication discussed how the recently passed festive season has ticked up the sales of residential properties. The Diwali and Dussehra season have increased the sale of properties across the country by 15%. Many real estate experts are of the view that the sale of houses increased by a good 10-15% while the rental market remained sluggish. And this demand was the maximum in the affordable housing segments, especially those projects that were offering special flexi payment plans. This year’s festive seasons fared better for the real estate market of India as compared to last year.
This publication also included the views of Mr, Pawan Jasuja, Director of Finlace Consulting, a well-known real estate consultancy firm based in Noida, UP. According to him the buyers went for those builders who have a better reputation in the market as well as on time delivery records. Reduction in property prices also had a role to play in increased sales. He also stated that the buyers preferred to invest in ready to move in properties as the difference in prices of these projects and those under construction has reduced considerably.
